Shaping Tomorrow's Innovation-Stamford American Robotics Team at Axonex

Axonex welcomed the Stamford American School Hong Kong robotics team — fresh from the VEX Worlds Championship — for an exclusive hands-on workshop with our NEX semi-humanoid and other AI robots, turning curiosity into creation and advancing our mission to build Hong Kong’s AI‑ready generation through technology for good.

One June 17th, in Axonex office, we welcomed the Stamford American School Hong Kong robotics team, 9th and 11th graders who just competed the Design Award at the VEX V5 Hong Kong Championship and competed in the VEX WORLDS Championship in the USA.

These are not just students. These are builders, tinkerers, and future innovators. And for 75 minutes, we got to show them what the future of robotics actually looks like.

From Demo to “What Can We Build?”

We opened our doors and gave them a behind-the-scenes look at three of our flagship systems: our companion robot, the semi-humanoid NEX, and our cleaning robot RICE. The spotlight, naturally, fell on NEX — our semi-humanoid platform that bridges the gap between conceptual AI and physical intelligence.

The students saw live demonstrations, asked sharp technical questions, and got their hands on the robots in a short interactive session. What impressed me most was their questions. Not “How does it work?” but “What can we build with this?” That shift from curiosity to creation is exactly what Hong Kong needs.

Why This Matters Now

The Financial Secretary's recent blog laid out a dual‑track vision: “AI + Industry” and “AI Training for All.” The government is already acting on this front — with HK$50 million committed through Cyberpark, HKSTP, and Hong Kong Productivity Council to roll out over 200 AI training activities for 50,000 participants over the next two years. That's a strong signal. Infrastructure and funding alone don't create an AI‑ready workforce; what truly matters is giving people from all walks of life access to real tools and industry expertise. Our student workshop is a first step — and we are ready to scale that model to broader community groups. That's exactly where we, at Axonex, come in — and we stand ready to partner with these very organizations to turn policy into practice, opening our labs and our robots to the next generation.

That's where initiatives like ours come in. When we host students — not as passive observers but as active participants — we're doing more than community outreach. We're helping build Hong Kong's AI-ready generation. By opening our labs, we bridge the gap between school theory and real‑world robotics, showing that physics and code become tangible solutions.

At Axonex, CSR isn't a checkbox; It is core to our mission. We commit to "technology for good" — building products and building futures. That means creating pathways from education to industry, and ensuring Hong Kong's AI revolution is built by its own people.

The Stamford team came with trophies and left with inspiration. We came with robots and left with hope. That's the future we're building together.
